Amidst the tumultuous onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I encountered an unexpected turn of events—redundancy. Though it was a challenging blow, it sparked a longing within me for greater flexibility (which I never had while working in the corporate world) and cherished moments with my family.

In 2020, a tumultuous year, I took a leap of faith and dove headfirst into the world of solopreneurship. Despite the uncertainties looming on the horizon, I embraced the tough challenges (I cried a lot, laughed, struggled with extreme fatigue due to lack of sleep, and worked daily until the early hours to create and set up everything to launch my first VA business without any help) with unwavering determination and an open heart, ready to carve out my own path.

With over 15 years of experience working in the corporate world that everyone knows as the norm, as an administrative assistant, I found myself at a unique crossroads. Drawing upon my expertise in organisation and efficiency, I delved into the world of entrepreneurship, keen on addressing the administrative hurdles faced by fellow small business owners and entrepreneurs.

Through meticulous research and firsthand observations, I understood the daunting realities of managing a small business while juggling myriad roles. It became abundantly clear that there was a pressing need for streamlined solutions to simplify operations and empower entrepreneurs to regain their time.

Driven by this understanding, I've dedicated myself to supporting fellow women entrepreneurs and small business owners. I set forth on a mission to provide comprehensive administrative assistance. My goal? To offer practical ideas, simplify complexities, and optimise workflows in a manner that's not only effective but also accessible and empowering.

Embracing change in our professional or entrepreneurial journey can be both daunting and liberating. While I initially embarked on the path of a virtual admin assistant, and while being an introvert, I've come to realise that our dreams and aspirations can evolve over time. And that's perfectly okay.

After dedicating 4 years to running my successful VA business, I recognised the importance of pausing, reflecting, and nurturing my own well-being. In January 2024, I decided to scale back and gracefully close down my Virtual Assistant business in June 2024.

This choice was made with careful consideration. However, I firmly believe it's a pivotal step towards cultivating a more harmonious and enriching lifestyle. By letting go of certain commitments, I've created space to explore fresh entrepreneurial endeavours while prioritising a healthier work-life balance.
